Peru

Peru is a country of spectacular and contrasting landscapes, including part of the Amazon rainforest and coastal Lima. However, it's Machu Picchu, an ancient Incan city tucked high in the Andes, which is Peru's claim to fame - the city is one of the seven wonders of the world.

The region around Machu Picchu has a wealth of archaeological sites, including the Inca Trail, the Sacred Valley, Inca Trail and the colonial city of Cusco. The capital Lima is a coastal city with a beautifully preserved historical centre and is home to impressive collections of pre-Columbian art.
